Cookie comes to Shamrock from Riverwood Acres after a long time of passing from stable to stable. Despite her rather erratic life, she's had a fairly successful racing career up to now. She's a sweet girl with very few vices - she rarely bites, kicks, or does anything otherwise mean on the ground. She is, however, a very spirited mare who loves to "dance" on the way to the race course, jigging along like an Irish river dancer. She was raced at a wide variety of distances when she was with Riverwood, but now that she has changed homes she is being retooled as a more sprint-oriented horse. Generally as sweet as her name (though with occasional flashes of what appears to be ginger snap,) she's a favorite around the barn and loves to be patted on. She hates being left alone in the pasture and gets upset when there aren't other horses around to keep her company. At Shamrock, this currently means that her main companion is Cali, who brings out more of the mischievous side of Cookie - the side that will see you coming up to the pasture and dash off to stand six feet away from you, standing perfectly still until the last second before running just out of reach again. She's sweet, playful, a good laugh, and just all-around a great horse.

Racing Style:

Cookie will take care of you, period. She likes to run and knows her job, and she's generally uncomplicated and doesn't need a whole ton of rider interference. Her biggest strength is her fast break, she hardly ever gets left at the gate and is generally raring to run. She is a front-runner, but she is not a pace setting horse. She likes to be at the front of the pack, but she's usually not in first place at the very beginning of the race. If there is an uncomplicated opening for the lead, it's best to take it before the middle of the race and let her do the rest. She has a good deal of speed on her and is a talented mare, but she struggles to hold onto the lead in longer races and generally does better on the shorter end of her range. She has a lot of heart and does her best 100% of the time. However, she absolutely hates it when her jockey gets in her face. She does best on a relatively loose rein and this makes it difficult for the jock to interfere much with her run. So if she's having an off day, there's little that can be done about it.
